25. Commitments and contingent liabilities

25.1 Capital commitments
As at 31 December 2013, the Company and its subsidiaries had capital commitments of
approximately Baht 160 million (2012: Baht 4 million), relating to acquisition of land, equipment,

movie rights and television programs.

25.2 Guarantees
As at 31 December 2013, the Company and its subsidiaries had outstanding bank guarantees
of Baht 6 million (2012: Baht 6 million) and of the Company only amounting to Baht 5 million

(2012: Baht 5 million) issued by banks on behalf of the Company and its subsidiaries in respect of
performance bonds.

25.3 Operating lease and service commitments
The Company and its subsidiaries had entered into several lease agreements in respect of
the lease of office building space and other services contracts. The terms of the agreements were

generally between 1 and 5 years.

As at 31 December 2013 and 2012, future minimum lease payments required under these
non-cancellable operating lease and service contracts were as follows.

26. Financial instruments

26.1 Financial risk management
The Company and its subsidiaries’ financial instruments, as defined under Thai Accounting

Standard No.107 “Financial Instruments: Disclosure and Presentations”, principally comprise cash
and cash equivalents, current investments, trade and other receivables, trade and other payables,
short-term loans to subsidiaries and short-term loans from subsidiaries and financial lease liabilities.

The financial risks associated with these financial instruments and how they are managed is
described below.

Credit risk
The Company and its subsidiaries is exposed to credit risk primarily with respect to trade and
other receivables, and short-term loans to subsidiaries. The Company and its subsidiaries manages
